Terms of use
The service
Manna is a ministry assistant provided by M-Chat (Pty) Ltd that helps churches stay connected with their people on WhatsApp. Manna is free for churches and is sustained by gifts.
For churches
- There is no charge, contract or minimum period. A church can stop using Manna at any time by letting us know.
- The church is responsible for the information it gives Manna (sermons, events, contact people) and for choosing who receives prayer requests, needs and alerts.
- We ask churches to use Manna reasonably so it stays sustainable for everyone. We may limit use that puts the service at risk.
- WhatsApp's own terms and Meta's messaging policies apply to messages sent through Manna.
For church members
- Manna answers on behalf of your church, using information your church has provided. It can make mistakes. For anything important, please confirm with your church.
- Manna is not a counsellor or an emergency service. If you are in danger, call 10111 or SADAG on 0800 567 567.
Gifts
Gifts to Manna are made to M-Chat (Pty) Ltd, processed by PayFast, and used to keep Manna free for churches. M-Chat is a company, not a registered public benefit organisation, so gifts are not tax deductible and we cannot issue Section 18A certificates.
Monthly gifts continue until you cancel them. You can cancel at any time from the PayFast email you receive with each payment, or by emailing hello@getmanna.ai. If a gift was made in error, email us within 30 days and we will refund it.
Acceptable use
Don't use Manna to send unlawful, abusive or misleading content, or to try to disrupt the service.
Liability
Manna is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, M-Chat is not liable for indirect loss arising from use of the service.
Changes and law
We may update these terms and will post the new version here. These terms are governed by the law of South Africa.
